Looking for VCE Environmental Science past papers to practice your skills and apply your knowledge? You’ve come to the right place. Go straight to papers>>
In your VCE Environmental Science course you have examined the Earth as a dynamic and complex set of four interacting systems (atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere) that undergo changes over various time scales which affect, and are affected by, human activities. You’ve also developed knowledge and understanding of key models, concepts and principles of environmental science that reflect the contemporary nature and diversity of the disciplines involved, and that integrate scientific, economic, socio-cultural and political perspectives.
Completing past exam papers is one of the best ways to prepare you for your final exams. The VCE Environmental Science Curriculum and VCE Environmental Science Design pages contain the most current and up to date information about VCE Environmental Science and the VCE Environmental Science Exam. You will find links to past exam papers from 2002 onwards further down. Note that older exam papers are not necessarily a guide to the current VCE exam requirements.
We’ve organised the past papers by course and year, naming the links as accurately as possible. If you find any errors, please let us know.
Sometimes, there is only a marking guide available, in others, the marking guide contains sample answers as well. The table usually shows each question and the criteria with each mark or mark range.
Tips to Help you Prepare for Your VCE Environmental Science Exam
- Don’t learn answers to previous exam paper questions. Make sure you understand topics as a whole so you can apply your knowledge to the questions that will be asked in the exam, rather than trying to make previous question responses fit new questions. They are never going to ask you the exact same questions as previously asked.
- Practice Past Paper Exams. Doing recent past exam papers is the best way to get an understanding of how your exam paper will be structured. Complete it under exam conditions to prepare for your own exam and make sure if there’s a question type you didn’t understand that you speak to your teacher about it in case a similar question type is asked again.
Tips to Help you Ace Your VCE Environmental Science Exam
- Read questions carefully. Understand exactly what is being asked and make sure you give the marker exactly what they have asked for. Don’t just write down what you know about the topic, answer the question.
- Be selective if the question asks for one example. Focus on your ONE best answer rather than listing a variety of possible ideas. When you list multiple examples it’s easy to get confused and contradict yourself besides which they only asked you for one example.
