What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to pass my skills and learning on to those I am tutoring, and I enjoy seeing students succeed using my methods. I also enjoy seeing students who may have been struggling find some confidence within themselves after seeing some better results after tutoring
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my unique style of teaching and learning can prove to be a great asset to me as a math tutor in particular; I like to create formulae and/or step-by-step processes that can be applied to a wide range of scenarios in given areas of mathematics, which I find more useful than using specific examples to teach
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think it’s very important that a tutor can alter the ways in which they may go about tutoring to cater to specific needs of specific students where necessary. For example, if a student doesn’t understand my personal way of finding solutions, it’s important that I can work with them to find a way that I can explain things that will be useful to them. I also think it’s important that a tutor can make a student feel comfortable enough to ask questions where they may need clarification; lots of people can be afraid to speak when they need that as they may not feel comfortable enough to ask

I think his understanding of everything was satisfactory, however I will give him some questions on these concepts at the start of our next session so we can ensure he understands
I think Will had a satisfactory grasp, at least, of most of the concepts he'd have faced in the test

We did focus a bit more on BIMDAS/order of operations, because Will got stuck at times in some situations
Alyssa has been getting more confident with her BIMDAS/order of operations, as well as prime numbers, square roots and squared numbers
Alyssa has been getting more confident with her BIMDAS/order of operations, as well as prime numbers, square roots and squared numbers
Alyssa had some trouble with negative integers, when adding to a negative or subtracting from a positive where the result would be negative, but I think I taught her a few techniques that will help. We also did some review of factor trees just to make sure she knows what she's doing
Alyssa was confident with short division, prime numbers and integers

Had some trouble with finding factors of larger numbers, as well as constructing factor trees, but I think we had a solid understanding by the end of our session. We also stumbled a bit with BIMDAS (order of operations), where Alyssa got confused and missed some steps in practice questions. In saying this, I have organised to see Alyssa the day before the test this week so we can go over any last questions and make her notes together
