What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Tutoring gives me the opportunity to interact and act as a mentor for younger students in their final years of schooling. My role as a House Captain in 2024 provided a mentoring experience which I found incredibly fulfilling when I saw students succeed with the help and guidance that I provided. Likewise, tutoring offers this connection between students and myself. I believe it's crucial to ensure that every student has the support they need to reach their potential and are able to do their very best, despite external circumstances that may make it harder for them to achieve their goals.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My previous experience as a house captain involved working alongside younger year levels which taught me the importance of interpersonal skills, effective communication and organization. I believe these skills will contribute to creating an effective, positive learning and teaching environment. Additionally, I believe that my personality plays a key role in making learning enjoyable and engaging for my students. Having been academically driven all my life, I am determined to motivate my students and inspire them to give their best effort as well.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor’s role is to offer consistent academic support both during and outside of coaching hours. It's important to me to create a judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and can gradually build confidence in their abilities as exams or tests approach. For example, admitting a simple calculation error can be challenging, but by working together as a team and developing personalized strategies—such as active learning techniques, memory-building exercises, and accuracy practice—I can help students improve, and I am fully prepared to implement these approaches.
