What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy tutoring students passionate about learning as I am motivated to make them personalise their own learning outside of the class-based environment. I think it is important that students realise their individual strengths and learning style, which is what I love about tutoring, that it is a rewarding experience. Seeing students gain confidence and overcome academic challenges through my support brings me enjoyment.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths are communication and creativity. I can communicate effectively with people of different ages from my experience of peer support, debating adjudication at Debating SA, part-time jobs and volunteering experiences. It helps me build a relationship with a range of people, which facilitates better one-to-one tutoring. I can create a productive working environment with creative activities and learning methods tailored to the student's needs. More to this, I am patient with students' learning progress and can have open and flexible communication with students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The personalisation of learning is the most important thing I consider a tutor can do for their student. There is no one-size-fits-all study skills as every students have different interests and strengths. Therefore, I believe it is important to truly incorporate their interests and maximise their strengths in tutoring, for the students to build confidence and enjoy learning experience. This process and outcome can have numerous positive impacts on the students like making them feel motivated, enthusiastic and creative.
