What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I believe that being able to convey and pass on the knowledge that I accumulated when I was studying in high school and even knowledge that I have accrued studying in university is one of the more rewarding part of tutoring.
And seeing students understand that utilizing different methodologies to solve a single problem rather than sticking to a "surefire" solution to solve a problem is also extremely satisfying.
What is even more satisfying is that sometimes students might think of ways to solve a problem that I have never thought of, and that is okay, as I am learning too, just as they are
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strength as a tutor is that I can convey the methods to a solution for a problem pretty concisely to a student. But I also will make sure that the students are the ones trying to solve the problem, rather than directly providing them an answer.
I am also very open-minded and think that sometimes students might be able to find an even more creative or perhaps concise and faster way to solve a problem than the one that I suggested.
I also consider myself to be very considerate of a student's situation and will do my best to accommodate to the students' needs, if they require any.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is not to just be able to teach students the contents that they are supposed to convey and call it a day, but also teach them the creative ways they can go about solving problems presented to them, as there are sometimes more than one way to solve a single problem.
I feel like it is also extremely important for a tutor to be able to adapt their teaching styles according to the students' needs, every individual's mind functions differently and it is up to the tutor to find the best way to teach their students.

- She is able to understand a lot of the content that we went through for this week as it is mainly just content review to get her ready for her final exam. - I can see that she has confidence with a lot of the topics now, especially when they are topics that she is very well practised with. - Although she was hesitant whether she is gonna do well during the exam, I spent some time to pep talk and just talk about exams to her from my experience and she seems to feel more confident afterwards.
- She shows some signs of struggle and is scared that she might not be able to do questions related to functions. - There are still minor negativity as she still addresses some of her mistakes as her making "stupid/silly mistakes". Admittedly they are accidental mistakes, but I would argue that's due to the lack of backchecking, therefore the backchecking habit shall be reinforced.

- I can see that she has confidence with previous topics now, although she had minor hesitance about her exam as she got her results back and felt she could've done better, she reported that she is able to do all of the questions with full confidence and only lost marks because of careless mistakes.
- She struggled to understand this week's topic but is overall intrigued and said that she is happy to explore the topic on her own after our session.

- She is getting better at solving problems until an answer is obtained before looking to me for validation whether an answer is correct or if a step is correct. This is vital for confidence building as she needs to be able to be confident in answering questions herself before she can build confidence in obtaining the correct answer
- Doesn't remember how to find areas of different shapes, that required revision - Needs to understand and remember that the homework I gave her are relevant to previous contents I've taught her and so she needs to learn to reference back to previous content. - Rocky foundation on fractions still, needs to remember how fractions relate to division and how she can use it to her advantage.

- Confused between positives and negatives for an answer after subtraction. e.g, Big - Small = negative, Small - Big = positive etc. - Lack of understanding on some of the keywords in the topic, such as an intersection point, intersects or even finding coordinates
