What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring not only provides an opportunity for students to learn but also extends the ability of the tutor to communicate, teach and problem solve. Also, the flexibility that tutoring brings is different from every other job and I like the way tutors can structure their lessons by planning creatively to engage students in their learning. Most importantly, with hard work and dedication, students can improve academically which provides a sense of accomplishment for a tutor like myself when teaching.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having tutored several students from private and public schools and experiencing the transition of a new NSW syllabus for Mathematics, I have created a range of exam-like questions and common past-examination problems. As a strength, I believe I have an extensive level of knowledge about the learning outcomes in the curriculum and to pass that on to my students. Additionally, having the ability to be fluent in Chinese, communicating was made easier for students who may be struggling to understand English.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As a passionate tutor, the responsibility to create confidence and trust is vital in learning. Confidence allows students to tackle difficult and complex problems, serving as a 'stepping stone' to build a mathematical foundation. It can also act as an incentive for students to engage in lessons comprised of challenges. Furthermore, building trust through a tutor creates a passageway for learning by helping students develop their communication and problem-solving skills to strengthen their knowledge of new concepts and ideas.

A reference sheet will be made in preparation for the student's upcoming assessment next week to consolidate the student's understanding of difficult mathematical concepts and equations. For homework, the student should attempt to understand the variables in each equation and determine the factors that can affect the outcome of each equation.

The student should now be able to solve and logically understand difficult + challenging multiple choice questions on the balance of payments . Edward can further his knowledge by attempting as many multiple choice problems given for homework and school to become more confident in his learning.
Mathematically, the student should attempt more questions that involve equations such as using the correct equation to identify the relationship between the current account and capital & financial account for the balance of payments and the terms of trade for exchange rates. This will help the student realise the different factors that can affect the variables in each equation.
