What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
My favourite thing about tutoring - or teaching more generally - is helping someone progress from confusion to clarity on a subject they may be struggling with. Certainly, I find that when students become more self-assured & confident in their learning, they begin to actually enjoy and become engaged with a subject. I find this rewarding for both the student and the teacher.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I make a strong tutor as I can communicate with a variety of types of people, and adapt my teaching style based on the learning stage of the student. That is - if a student is struggling with a concept/topic on a fundamental level, I can slow down and approach the subject from a different angle, or if a high-achieving student wishes to further their learning I can speed it up and provide more challenging work.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think a tutor should play an important role in developing a student's confidence, and equip them with new ways of thinking so that they can approach new concepts on their own with success.

Amy went well in progressing in her understanding of the difficult function questions, being able to relate the properties of the 1st and 2nd derivatives to the behaviour of the original function. Also did well in integrating.
Amy could improve in maths by memorising identities and formulas, particularly to help her with trigonometric identity questions. This as a skill will also enable longer-winded hard questions to be broken down into easier, more manageable chunks. In regards to English, as discussed during the lesson, thesis statement writing could be improved, to both get to the crux of the question and be purposeful about word choice. Moreover writing during paragraphs could be more succint.
