What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love that whilst I am helping someone else learn or gain a deeper understanding of the concepts or topics that they are studying, I am also able to exercise and refresh my own skills. As well as this, I am also able to continue to gain different and fresh perspectives on the topics that I tutor, giving me an even more wholistic understanding, which will subsequently assist in future tutoring sessions.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am extremely passionate about learning and helping others, and in terms of what my strengths are as a tutor, I believe I have many. I love all aspects of the writing process, from planning, to writing, to refining and reinventing, and have become very skilled within that process. I know how important the foundations of a good piece of work are, whether that be in creative writing, critical analysis, finding good, reliable sources, or even knowing how to construct an essay. I also understand that everyone learns in different ways and I am very adaptable to the different needs of my students.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

In my experience tutoring students, as well as being a student myself, I believe a person needs to do four main things in order to be a good tutor; they need to be able to assess what their students are lacking, know what you can do to improve on their skills, communicate well, and boost the overall confidence of the student and the confidence that they have in their work. A good tutor will be able to communicate concepts and ideas well, adjust their teaching style to suit the student, provide feedback and instil and encourage confidence in their students.
