What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Tutoring provides a way to assist students in achieving their goals and I find the most rewarding part is connecting with the student and giving them access to techniques to allow them to do this. From this I enjoy watching a student flourish, not just academically but also confidence wise. Where it is a full-filling role as the students also teach me a lot (eg; how to adapt teaching to their learning styles and also be more understanding), where it allows me to assist them in having skills which are applicable within and and outside of school to achieve their ambitions.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am truly passionate about helping people achieve their potential and education. Because of this my strength is my ability to communicate and listen effectively, adapting my teaching style to the students needs. A core part of this is to go beyond just assisting the student achieve grade orientated goals but also give them structures to assist their individual needs to succeed in life and with exam/assessment stress. In order to do this I challenge myself to convey the information in an engaging manner that focuses on ensuring the student learns the content at a deep conceptual level.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe a tutor should be a role model. Where they should embody not only the study skills they teach but also be honest, patient and a motivator, all whilst being professional. Through this a student can grow both academically and as a person allowing them to reap the rewards more deeply. A tutors role is to listen and provide their clients with skills which allow them to grow their confidence and perseverance in order to pursue opportunities. Where tutors should challenge and assist a student to have a growth mindset to further their pursuit for their passions.
