What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
In my opinion, the most enjoyable thing about tutoring (and helping other people with learning) is the reward of seeing them enjoy learning. Being able to successfully break down concepts to make them digestible and to physically see students enjoy both the content and learning process is the true essence of tutoring. Furthermore, being able to have one-on-one discussions about their learning and what aspects they are struggling with makes tutoring a rather effective and interesting form of education.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am a rather calm and collected individual and thus, I believe this would make me a good tutor as I would not become easily frustrated by little mistakes and would make sure the students always felt relaxed and that they could ask any questions. Similarly, I am confident in verbalising ideas to others and love to look at things from a creative point of view, meaning I would be able to think up creative/interactive explanations if traditional methods were failing. Moreover, I also thoroughly enjoy working and talking with other people.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them to enjoy learning. While some may believe tutoring is a means by which students are forced to study, I think of it more so as a means by which students can be exposed to different ways of learning and retaining information.
