What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
For me, the best part of being a tutor is seeing my students grow. This is more than just a rewarding experience, rather it grants me with pride and satisfaction at knowing that my actions are having a positive impact on someone else’s life. Perhaps it’s because I am an older sister, but I have always felt the joy of teaching- there’s something quite magical when your student accomplishes a feat they before thought impossible. Whilst it is a challenging role requiring immense dedication and responsibility, it's also one that is extremely fulfilling and personally rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Undoubtedly, my biggest strength as a tutor is my ability to adapt. I understand that everyone learns differently, and standardized teaching methods are not always compatible with individual learning styles. Through my past tutoring experiences, I’ve learnt the importance of changing my teaching methods to suit each learner, such as by using visually engaging tools to teach or guiding students step by step or asking students to explain their reasoning. I also know that student attitudes towards learning can change between lessons, and I am committed to remaining flexible in my teaching.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is to create optimal learning environments where students feel supported and excited to learn. Learning is never easy- but I am motivated to make it as comfortable as possible. This means that students feel safe to make mistakes, learn from them, and ask questions. To achieve this, tutors must remain encouraging and provide constructive feedback. It’s equally as important for tutors to remain consistent and bring the same positive attitude and energy every week, which I am driven to do.
