What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I've never formally tutored before, however, I've always had a great interest and found enjoyment in working with other people to solve math problems which creates a greater understanding of the topic itself. I was personally tutored from years 10 to 12 as I did high-level (ext 1) maths during my senior years and it gave me a great perspective as to how different ways of looking at problems are suited to different people and allow for that greater understanding as a whole within that specific subject.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strength would be my ability to ask varied questions to see how the student is looking at the problem and therefore what is specifically confusing that student. with that found understanding I would use my strength as a math student to use my strong understanding of math concepts to explain in a way that caters to my student's prior knowledge, and ultimately builds on that knowledge.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
the most important thing a tutor can do for their student is to listen to them and let them explain why they may not understand certain topics when learning them in school, and therefore identify the areas in that student's understanding which may need the most work or how I can change certain explanations to help my student see from another perspective.
