What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

My favourite thing about tutoring is getting to engage with people and spark their curiosity in the subject. Helping someone finally grasp a concept, or see the beauty behind it, is a very special moment. I also just generally enjoy talking about maths and physics, so tutoring provides a nice outlet for that.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my biggest strength as a tutor is the way I use examples and simple explanations to help build an intuitive grasp of more complex concepts. I try to use a problem-based approach to learning when possible, letting the questions teach the material and giving hints to the student along the way.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think that the most important thing a tutor can do is encourage the student to think about things in a new light, and learn for themselves. By asking leading questions and allowing them to make mistakes, one can help mould a much more proficient and inquisitive student. It also gives the student confidence in themselves, and shows that generally they know more than they think they do.

As the oldest sibling among four children, this tutor has developed exceptional communication skills with younger students. They have casually tutored friends and classmates, finding joy in explaining complex maths concepts in an understandable way. Their enthusiasm for education makes them a relatable and effective mentor for primary and high school students.

Flexible Schedule with Diverse Experience

With a flexible schedule due to a substantial break from university studies, this tutor is readily available to meet various tutoring needs. Their experience extends beyond academics; they have babysat multiple children, volunteered as a lifesaver, and managed resources for an engineering team at school. These roles demonstrate their strong work ethic, organisation skills, and ability to handle responsibility—qualities that parents will appreciate in a dedicated tutor.
