What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
When a student finally understands a concept, I really like the satisfaction I gain from that. It makes me feel like I have successfully done my job and have made a significant contribution to their maths learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I am patient and amiable, which are important skills for a tutor. A good tutor is one that is able to patiently explain a concept even if the student is taking a while to grasp it, and providing a safe atmosphere for the student to be confident to ask questions. I learnt these skills when I taught a singing class as a student teacher at my singing school, where my class had students who were struggling to sing a song to tune. I spent time singing each line to which they repeated, and correcting mistakes. I remained calm and non judgmental when they made mistakes.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I know schooling can be a sad journey for some; Students are overwhelmed with the rate at which they receive information and struggle to keep up, and eventually loose hope in their academic capabilities. Hence I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is restore their motivation and hope in themselves, that they can learn and succeed in school.
