What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a student myself, I understand the struggle that comes with learning. Therefore, the most valuable value that I picked up from tutoring is the ability to help people by making them understand something that they may have had no idea about before. I enjoy seeing people making progress to a higher level, and being with them along the journey as a tutor gives me the satisfaction that I have helped them to be a step closer to achieving their dreams. Especially for high school students, I do acknowledge the importance of school grades which will be needed to pursue their tertiary studies.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Firstly, I am a positive tutor who has confidence in my students. I believe in their potential to grow and this has helped me to double my effort if my students need more of a push. Next, I have been practicing clear communication as I need to ask the right questions to understand their way of learning. When communicating with parents, I ensure that they can understand their child’s progress. Lastly, I have tutored various types of students which built my adaptability. I am aware that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, hence I have taught myself to be creative in tackling difficulties.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing is to guide the student confidently. A tutor needs to trust the student that they can improve through efforts and never give up on them by guiding them half- heartedly. From my past experience, it was easy to feel hopeless especially when the student could not show the expected improvement. But I am a firm believer that students will, sooner or later, return the tutor’s energy. Undeniably, students who are weak in a particular subject can be easily looked down upon. Therefore, a tutor’s confidence really helps to bring the students to their highest potential.
