What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a tutor, helping to ignite a passion for a subject my students may have otherwise hated is how I find meaning in my work. Forming strong, professional but lighthearted relationships with my students is how I find joy in my work. And being a role model the younger generation can learn from is how I find pride in my work.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a recent high school student studying at university, I am easily able to build relationships with my students as I can relate to them. I also have valuable insights into potential career decisions for my students as I had to go through the same process. Above all else, the student has to enjoy the learning process. I take it as my responsibility to keep my students engaged to help them gain a passion for the subject. I praise every improvement and tackle every problem my students have with a high level of patience. I not only teach the concepts but also go into the reasoning behind those concepts and study techniques my students can use so studying goes from being a chore to something they actually look forward to. I also have a very strong academic history my students can rely on: - 97 for Adv Maths (accelerated) - 94 for Ext 1 Maths - 92 for Ext 2 Maths - 89 for Software Design and Development - Extensive coding experience - Graduated as DUX of 2021

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

An unspoken role of a tutor is to not only teach their students well but also act as a good role model for them. My goal as a tutor is exactly that. In addition to helping my students greatly improve their grades and passion for their subject, I strive to also emphasise the value of having a growth mindset and the importance of lifelong learning and personal development. A good tutor helps their students understand the subject. However, a great tutor not only does that but also: - Helps the student find a passion for the subject - Helps the student find direction in their career path - Mentors their students and acts as a role model so they not only do well in the subject but also in many other aspects of life too - Teaches the students how to learn more effectively and perform when it matters - Provides encouragement and emotional support in the student's times of stress
