What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy fleshing out the thought process and the critical thinking needed to approach a question, rather than just the immediate solving of it. It is very satisfying for me to see my students understand the ways to approach future questions and the multiple ways to think about it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my strengths is that I went through the math tutoring gauntlet all throughout primary and high school and I understand what students require, such as different ways of thinking or motivation. I also can alter ways to explain higher level math to primary students so that they understand it with their current mathematical knowledge.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Motivating them is probably the most important, as students can be brilliant but fall behind quickly if they do not have the drive to improve. I think that a tutor also needs to have multiple different ways of approaching a question as a student might not be able to grasp a particular one. Furthermore, I believe that generically working through set problems is not the best way for a student to progress, as a tutor should be able to identify the weaknesses of a student a tailor the problems given to them to solve.
