What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy helping students develop skills to learn maths and I find it really rewarding knowing that I helped them go from a B to an A. I also feel as though through helping them, they are helping me communicate better to those who I am in charge of mentoring and/or mentoring.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I don't focus on answers but rather I focus on the method and developing a more in depth understanding of why and how we got to the answer. I am fun and the students are comfortable when they don't understand.
I encourage the students to show all the working they do and when I work through questions I make sure not to skip any steps and I ask the students if their teachers have skipped any steps they don't understand and I'll talk them through it.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is make sure that a student is able to understand why they do everything they are doing and then apply it to all questions in particular worded questions which can be rather difficult to comprehend.
