What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love being able to sit down with a student and figure out what they are having trouble with. It is very rewarding to be able to help a student and give them a deeper understanding of a subject. I also feel like tutoring really forces the tutor to learn, since sometimes the students ask really interesting questions! I love being shown different ways to think about the subjects that I thought I already knew very well!
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am fairly empathetic, so I try to figure out what each individual student is having trouble with instead of trying to force them into a very small box. I like to get to know the student and understand what type of learning works better for them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing is to listen to the student and allow them to feel confident in asking for help. It's important to make sure that the student doesn't feel dumb or like they're being looked down upon when asking a question. It's also important to be honest, if you don't know the answer it's better to tell the student this and research the question instead of lying, since this as well will reduce the trust between you and the student and will prevent them from asking questions.

There are still some topics the student has trouble with, so we will work through these in the future. It will also be important to keep revising algebra so it doesn't get forgotten.
