What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love the phenomenon of seeing students learning something new. Whether it is information, a strategy to solve a problem or a strategy to assist them with study and life in general. I like the variety in the students I teach, finding out their best method of studying and learning sand getting to know them. I like the challenge of finding the best way for a concept or concepts to be taught to students and the best way for that information to become engrained in their minds.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am able to approach information to be taught from many different angles, being able to find the example or approach which will help the students to understand best. I am imaginative and know how to make lessons fun for students. I am pedagogically proficient, particularly in following the format of teacher demonstration, if needed, followed by teacher and students working together, if deemed necessary, and finishing with the student working alone. I have many skills in using mnemonics and enabling efficient comprehension of the material being taught.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Tutors are there to motivate a student to achieve greater outcomes in life, principally in the area of academic study. Whether this is confidence, the knowledge that someone believes in them, strategies for studying and/or comprehension, through to developing initiative, self correction skills and the ability to constantly improve, tutoring is a way to accelerate a person's development in life in whatever area/s and give them a positive step forward with what they are doing.

Tutoring went well thanks, Nick was excellent.
Robin, Redlynch
Everything seems to be going well so far. There was a lot of laughter at this week’s session. That’s got to be a good sign! I asked Oscar why he had fun with Nick and not me. He said “I don’t mean to offend you Mum, but Nick knows what he’s doing!”. How’s that for a testimonial?
Lorraine, Alderley
Nick is lovely and Oscar connected with him no problem.
