Tutors are not parents, nor are they teachers. There is only so much a tutor can do for a student, but I believe it can be one of the most impactful. The purpose of a tutor is to help students regain their confidence in academia and be able to stand up on their own. I believe that a lot of academics are stuck on cramming methods and lecture based education, which is not for everyone.
