What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Being able to share the knowledge I've accumulated across VCE and university with students is what I find most enjoyable. Passing on the knowledge and then seeing students happy once they understand a concept or can solve a problem is a gratifying experience.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As an undergraduate demonstrator, one of my biggest challenges is dealing with the varying academic levels of my students. Teaching a 3 hour workshop to students who had completed 3/4 Maths Methods and Chemistry alongside students who hadn't competed any maths or chemistry in the past 5 years was difficult. However, this has given me great experience in my approach to teaching students at different academic levels.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the most important skills for a tutor is to be able to word and explain concepts in a multitude of ways, rather than having one single explanation. Being able to explain a concept or theory from its most basic components and then slowly build up the information for the student is one of the most important skills to have and thing to do for a student. Developing a good relationship with your student is also important. Through my experience, the ability to build rapport and generate a comfortable learning environment is just as important as being able to efficiently teach the content.
