What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Personally, I like to put myself in scenarios where I am challenged with different situations as I believe becoming the best person you can be is dependent on the learning/working environment you place yourself in. Since I have had experience in tutoring younger students, the thing I enjoy the most is seeing how every student is different. Each student has different strengths and weaknesses, so teaching each student the same way is not a useful technique. As such, placing myself in these situations where at times can be challenging is one of the main things I enjoy the most being a tutor.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strength as a tutor is that I can directly relate to how students learn as I am a VCE student myself. Since I can relate to what makes a student stressed/overwhelmed, I believe that it helps me to understand how to work with students even though we have different ways of learning and understanding what we are taught in class. I also believe another strength I have as a tutor is I have had tutoring lessons since primary school, so I am familiar with the learning dynamics from both the tutor and the students perspective which is key to be a helpful tutor.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that tutors need to be able to explain things to students succinctly give that students are already putting their own time out of school to catch up on what they have missed. Students who tend to be apathetic towards a subject end up performing poorly in class as they might the subject too difficult, therefore, tutors need to show enthusiasm to imply the benefits of learning that subject. From my experience, the majority of the kids find math challenging as the content taught does not make any sense to them, but as I've tutored them over time, their mindset changes towards maths.
