What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most enjoyable aspect of tutoring is the ability to nurture a love for the subject or at the very least, an appreciation. English and Literature are one of my favourite subjects, requiring an in depth insight to fully grasp the techniques and ideas of the subject. I understand there is nothing more frustrating than not comprehending the subject which can lead to a stagnant relationship with the subject. Thus, I wish to pass on this passion onto students and help them understand and improve their English skills so they can flourish later in their education.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths as a tutor revolve around my confidence to effectively communicate with everyone involved, regardless if they’re my student, administration or parents. My public speaking skills that I have developed in both my leadership and co-curricular activities are ideal for actively engaging with my students to further enhance their lesson. It also allows me to report to parents in an articulate and informed manner that gives them an accurate insight into their child’s development.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is be empathetic to the experience of a student, especially as a young person. Having been a recent graduate, I understand the pressures, stress and desires surrounding ones education and the want to improve and evolve as a learner. Therefore, being empathetic allows a tutor to understand the limitations of their student, their specific goals that they want to achieve and evaluate the potential in their student. This further enhances the educational experience of the student as a tutor can then tailor a tangible solution.
