What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love teaching, but more than that, I enjoy building connections with my students and just getting to know them better. In that way, I am also expanding my knowledge as a teacher with their shared experiences and perspectives. Providing support and encouragement to my students is such a great satisfaction for me.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I don't just help a student with his or her schoolwork; I lead them in building their confidence towards difficult subjects and help them form their own techniques to achieve their goals.
I use personalised teaching materials that are interactive and relevant to the needs of the learners.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Sometimes a student needs more than just a tutor who can teach him or her difficult contents; they also need someone who can provide them with encouragement and support so they can start believing in their own skills. A tutor can come up with millions of strategies to apply in order to deliver a lesson, but it'll be worthless if you don't relate it to the learner's personal experience, and that, I think, would be the most important of all.

The student continuously got more comfortable using arrays in multiplying 1-digit and 2-digit numbers, so the column method was introduced, and she was able to follow its steps and use it in multiplication. She was able to differentiate between vertical and reflex angles as well as identify the measurement of the opposite angles.
The student had a bit of a struggle with subtracting 2-digit numbers from 3-digit numbers when we were solving for the supplementary angles, so subtraction will be included in the maths drill in the following weeks.

-The student demonstrated her mastery in determining actual examples of acute, right, and obtuse angles. She was able to differentiate the three types of angles with the use of a virtual protractor. -Multiplication using arrays was an effective strategy for the student. She was confident using it to multiply different sets of numbers. -Sheβs gradually gaining confidence in Maths, which is a great improvement.
-Although the student is improving in multiplication, she still needs more practise with it.

The student was able to accurately identify the length and width of square and rectangular objects around the room and demonstrated measuring tool expertise (using a ruler, measuring tape, etc.). Using her understanding of the subject, she was able to determine the areas of square and rectangular shapes in a particular model. It's nice to see her growing confidence in problem-solving.
Multiplication continues to be our main concern, especially with decimal numbers. We are trying to explore different methods and strategies for her to master this field. So far, the student is eager to strengthen her basic maths skills, which are important for her overall improvement in this subject.

The student was introduced to the different strategies for multiplying numbers (column, arrays, regrouping, repeated addition, etc.), and she was able to use them in specific maths problems. She did great in representing given problems in multiplying two-digit numbers using concrete materials, pictorial diagrams, and numerical expressions.
In order to feel more at ease with multiplication, the student needs to become more accustomed to the various multiplication methods. She needs to work on solving a problem systematically so she won't get confused along the way.
