My Strengths as Tutor 💪

STRENGTH: Professional, punctual, organized and can cater for the individual student's needs (one mould does not fit all!). I am very friendly and empathetic but will also work to a structure. I have a keen eye for detail and will ALWAYS go the extra 10% to perfect a student's work and offer advice from a wide range of experience/stories & original teaching methods. I am very 'thorough' if given a task. WEAKNESS: Need to be more flexible and encouraging of student experimentation and new techniques. Improve on ways to develop individual thinking over reliance and offer MORE praise.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

There are 2 things at the crux of what tutors should do for students. 1) Instilling confidence in themselves. A student will not learn if they are discouraged and apprehensive about their abilities - they need to feel supported and this can be done through praise and making 'light' of the task. 2) Equipping students with skills. The phrase "Method over Matter" is fundamental in education. Without the skills (e.g. essay structure, how to analyze a text) a student cannot improve be fully dependent when faced with new texts. By giving students these tools, passion and confidence will follow.
