My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths would definitely be in connecting with the students, building relationships and acknowledging them as individuals. You need to really understand how a child clicks, what methods work and what do not in order for there to be success. Once you have figured that out a child in very eager to learn, this is where my strengths are. My weaknesses would be in the advanced maths department, i have a foundational knowledge in Maths therefore i would prefer not to tutor grades 10 and above. In that same breath i am fully capable of teaching younger grades Maths and any grades English.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Allow them to learn at their own pace as enforcing systems onto them does not benefit anyone. If they are having trouble understanding theories continue to teach them in different lights until they fully understand. Allow them to figure things out on their own but provide a helping hand that points them in the right direction. This means you may have to compromise your techniques in order to adopt techniques that work better for the student. In conclusion, tailoring an approach to the student is the most important thing in order for them to become an independent learner.
