From my experience with tutors, I consider the most important things a tutor can do for a student are. Recognising someone's improvements, recalling how a student has overcome a challenge in the past can be a great motivator for the present as well as build self-confidence. Being a role model, students will be influenced by a tutor's method of teaching. Patients and positivity, working with the student's pace and remaining positive.
