What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love breaking down a complex concept into easy-to-digest buckets of information that can be explained in the form of a story to students so that they understand the components of the concept and how come together to form the concept. I find it rewarding when my students have an "aha-moment" with a previously difficult concept that they now understand and more so when I see the first signs of them taking ownership of their education by being proactive about it!
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
During the first few sessions, I focus on building rapport with my students and assessing their strengths and weaknesses and establishing clear goals for our tutoring journey. In this regard, I am well-organised and punctual with the lessons and their content. But I recognize that students can vary in their learning styles so I adjust my teaching style to meet the students' needs and encourage them to participate and ask questions in and outside class. I also provide additional resources for content learnt and encourage open-minded approach to learning.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe that students benefit the most from those tutors who have established clear goals for the lessons, are patient and flexible in their teaching style and have built rapport with the students so that they are comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance from them.
