What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy about tutoring is helping people to achieve their potential and break down the barriers that may be preventing them from excelling. As I also enjoy English language and study it in university, I do enjoy reading what my students come up with and express.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I believe that my strengths are being able to understand my students and engage with them on an interpersonal level, as well as being attentive to their writing. By facilitating a relationship with my students I feel that they become more willing to work alongside me. I am also pay close attention not only to grammar and punctuation, but sentence construction and expression of ideas. As such, my students are able to understand in-depth how to build essays and arguments from the bottom-up.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student are:
- Read their expressions; if a student is feeling distressed, confused, or overwhelmed, a tutor must know and be able to slow down the situation.
- Understand what they excel in and need help in; tutors should have an understanding of the skill set of their students as they teach.
- Provide not only educational support, but also emotional and social support; as high school is difficult time to many people, it is important to be able to emphasise and accept the realities students are going through.
