What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Although I've had no commercial tutoring experience, I've had the responsibility of guiding my little sister through any hard topics she's encountered in her schooling. I can fully say that the thing I love most about tutoring was seeing her finally understand the concept she was struggling with and gaining confidence in maths. I hope to share this experience with my future students through Ezymath tutoring :)
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strengths as a tutor is my patience and ambition! Throughout the whole process of 'tutoring' my little sister, I have never gotten upset or impatient when she comes across a difficult question and repeatedly says she doesn't understand despite me explaining it 100 times. I've come to understand (from my own experiences of being tutored) that everyone learns at a different pace and should have their learning catered to themselves. Thus, I believe I can take this experience and use it to patiently teach my future students, ensuring they fully understand any difficult concepts :)
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the most important things a tutor can do for their student is boost their morale. As a student who got tutored, I was always embarrassed of receiving extra help with my subjects as I thought it meant I wasn't as smart as others. I was blessed to be tutored by a teacher who continuously reminded me that it was okay to be tutored as it meant that I was making a huge effort to improve my studies, demonstrating a growth mindset. Being tutored helped me improve my grades, but it also helped me gain more confidence in myself. I hope to spread this confidence in the future students at Ezymath!
