What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy teaching and facilitating learning. In my academic experience, I used to help teach my friends concepts we were working through, as it helped me learn. Furthermore, I enjoy the ability to work through situations and problems with students and help them improve and develop. I believe I am outgoing and friendly, so talking and communication via tutoring suits my strengths.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am an empathetic and patient tutor. I am willing to take my time with a student and not rush things. This means that my students feel supported. I believe that I am an effective communicator, which greatly assists my ability to tutor. Being able to coherently explain concepts can help a student learn more efficiently. Finally, I believe that I am very observant. Sometimes our students may not want to work or to learn, and identifying when this occurs is vital. Being able to modify the work and keep them concentrated is an important skill in maintaining engagement.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student all stems from support. Supporting the student and encouraging development is really important for establishing rapport and fostering improvement. Effective communication with parents is also incredibly important. This allows for accountability at home and that the effort that both the parents and students are utilising is not going to waste. If there is to be long term benefits, there needs to be work done at home, and effective communication can help ensure that.
