What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy tutoring as I love to personally invest in people. With individualised help, I know that anyone can find the satisfaction that comes from knowledge and understanding. By creating an environment and routine that fosters learning, I have helped students realise that they are indeed very capable individuals. As their confidence increased, their results flourished. For example, one method I have found that effectively allows students to contextualize and cement content in their minds is having them explain their understanding of concepts to me so that we can learn together (this is proven as an invaluable form of knowledge retention).

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Through my experience as a recently graduated student, I have developed a set of fresh and reliable skills to be readily passed down to my students. While I am qualified to tutor all of the above subjects, I have explicit experience tutoring primary school, high school, and university students in Mathematics, Chemistry, and English. As shown in the testimonials I have provided, I make the student feel comfortable. Too often this experience can be very intimidating. My Psychology degree provides me with the unique ability to build a positive rapport and line of communication.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Most students end up investing in a tutor as they have not been taught the skills to synthesise concepts and study themselves. My aim as a tutor is to inspire students to be independent learners by providing them with the supplies, support, and motivation to continue what they have learned by themselves at home. Tutoring only occurs for a short period every week so it is vital that my students engage in lifelong learning by changing habits. This way, 1 hour of focused learning results in dividends that extend far beyond that single hour.
