What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As a fellow student, I completely understand and am still experiencing the stress of school. There can be a lot of pressure to do well, whether this pressure comes from yourself, school or parents. When you have the pressure to do well, while you're struggling to understand classwork, this creates a load of stress which can lead to school becoming a miserable place. Hence, the most enjoyable and satisfying thing to come from being able to tutor a younger student is to see them smile a stressfree smile. It's at this moment when you know you've helped them have one less thing to worry about.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm a patient person and won't get easily frustrated if a student doesn't understand the subject material or can't easily get a question correct after guiding and advising them on the steps required to solve the problem. Although I have experienced many frustrating moments in my math classes, I genuinely have an interest in math (you don't hear that every day). It is honestly one of the best and most rewarding feelings to finally solve a question you don't understand in math, and I want to be able to share this feeling with students I can tutor too.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To not give extra bad pressure to students. A tutor should help make a learning environment and time, where learning a frustrating topic becomes enjoyable, rather than further creating a frustrating learning environment which can lead to more stress in school. The aim as a tutor is to help the student gain courage in their ability to learn the subject tutored. Another important thing a tutor must be able to do for a student is to have the ability to adapt and recognise the student's way of learning. Everyone learns differently and failing to recognise this, won't help the student improve.
