What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love watching a student suddenly understand something they have been struggling with, the lightbulb moments.
I also enjoy the relationship aspect; working together with a student to achieve a common goal and understanding what the student's strengths and weaknesses are.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I tutor using a question and answer system. I ask the student leading questions and this helps the student to feel as if they know something and helps keep them engaged. This way, I can tailor my questions to the individual student. If I need to give an explanation, I will ask the student to explain back to me in their own words. Additionally, with maths questions, I use a "see, do, teach" method. I find that this helps scaffold the learning process, and the student never feels as if it is too much for them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
-Help the student to work out information for themselves
-Help the student gain confidence in themselves, and their own brainpower
-Keep the student engaged, and in a low-stress environment
