What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love it when I am able to make someone appreciate or even like something they initially though boring and stupid. Helping people achieve things that they themselves or their teachers didn't believe they were capable of gives me a great sense of satisfaction. I also love seeing the change in people as they become more confident in their abilities and the happiness they experience when that translates to an objective number (test score) that they can show their parents and friends.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I'm very good at tailoring my explanation of concepts and problems to the individual. I'm patient, a good listener and get along well with young people. I allow people to make their own mistakes and learn from them instead of just walking students through how i would solve it and asking if they understand. I understand the frustration people feel when they can't resolve something in their mind and am capable of empathising with those struggling to meet the academic demands placed upon them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is give the student a sound understanding of the concepts and thought processes involved in the different areas of mathematics and not just now to answer the common question types and plug values into any given formula. I believe this allows students to better adapt to the harder, left-field questions that appear at the end of exams. This is crucial because it is the ability to answer these questions that allows students to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack and achieve higher levels of success.
