What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being able to play a role in helping shape another person’s education and being able to facilitate them overcoming their academic challenges, allowing them to build confidence in their own abilities.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

There are a number of strengths which mean that I am able to succeed within a tutoring capacity. Firstly, I’m able to recognise that this work requires incredible patience and as such, throughout my experiences, I have developed this skill. Further, having had my own experience both with being tutored and with struggling in my classes during primary school, I understand both the experience of struggling with my academics as well as effective ways to mitigate this, having been privy to a student’s perspective on this matter.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

For the majority of students I have met, a large proportion approach their studies disinterested. Thus, the tutor’s most crucial responsibility is not only to effectively convey the subject matter, it is to do it in a way which sparks engagement. This extends further for theoretical subjects such as chemistry, where the tutor assumes a greater responsibility in illuminating the interconnection between the area of studies. However, this must be done in a way where it ‘clicks’ for the students themselves rather than just having them memorise and regurgitate the lesson imposed on them.
