What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Throughout my entire academic journey although I've had instances and experiences where I was teaching, whether it be for a friend, a child or the classroom, in each case my favorite moments would be when they experience a 'lightbulb' moment. I see this aspect of tutoring extremely rewarding as it helps improve the student's knowledge and self-confidence, which all help aid their academic journey.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My key strengths as a tutor include patience, strong communication and the ability to break things down. I understand that all students learn at a different pace, so comparing students learning abilities isn't appropriate and the tutor should always have faith in the students, as we all have the ability to learn. A lot of the time, students just need some encouragement and a explanation iterated in a different manner, in order to understand the content. Furthermore, I find that when student's don't understand the content they often just need to be taught in increments, to fully grasp it.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to adapt to their needs and help them build a positive attitude towards learning. All student's learn through different techniques, I like to adopt a personal learning style for each student, sometimes students require visual aid, more practice problems or just analogies about something they are familiar with. Fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for a student is crucial for their enjoyment while learning. A tutor should incite a student's curiosity and show students that learning can be fun and rewarding.
