What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The ability to make a positive, meaningful, and lasting impact on someone's education motivates me to tutor others. I believe that every person can excel in any given subject, but may be limited by their belief to do so. Therefore, it is a tutor's job to instil within them the self-confidence to shine in any given subject. Such an aspect brings me the most enjoyment in tutoring; seeing someone finally grasp a concept or subject, spurring new confidence in learning, spurs a great pride and joy in me for the other person.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Pertaining to my own academic experience, I have substantial knowledge of the subjects I wish to tutor - particularly Biology and Chemistry (both of which I received academic excellence awards for in 2024), having attended John Monash Science School - a school specialising in STEM learning. My volunteering experience with my local soup kitchen as well as my involvement with my local scout unit from 2020 to 2023 has developed within me strong interpersonal communication skills due to collaborating with a range of age demographics in the execution of activities, tasks, etc.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must be able to confidently and coherently convey information regarding a specific concept or learning point to a student. They must do so in such a way that does not isolate the student from the teaching but rather integrates them within it - ensuring that the teaching fits their specific learning styles and idiosyncrasies. A good tutor does not simply list the information a student must know. Rather, they endeavour to form the information into digestible packets that maximise student retention, application, and confidence in a given subject.
