What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I believe it is such a rewarding experience in the sense that I am able to see my students improve. There is something so gratifying in this and one of the best feelings as a teacher. I get this alot from my experience as a Swim Instructor for the Central Coast Council. There I have only 30 minutes with up to 4 kids to teach the safety, correct and efficient methodologies of swimming. I love having kids that, at the start of the lesson, arenβt as proficient in freestyle for example, but as I assist and my instructions, they improve and it is so rewarding to see.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe I have strong interpersonal skills that allow me to connect with a variety of students and quickly understand how they receive information. I also have a Working With Children Check and so can start readily.
Furthermore, I have many resources, especially from Year 11 and 12 for HSC courses and this allows me to test my students capacity as a tutor and ensure that they are well prepared for any and all type of information questions. I also have a laptop/ipad that can be used to legibly and engagingly assist students to under
Most important things I can do for a student π
While it is important that students are achieving the marks they want, this is only half of the game. As a tutor, I want to be able to maximise their performance but also teach them the fundamental skills that come along with achieving success. Things like consistency, discipline and a growth mindset arenβt part of any NSW syllabus, but is apart of every student that performs well. As a tutor, I hope I can explore and reinforce these concepts within students so that they can not only apply these practices towards their school life but in general all aspects of adulthood and the future.
