What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The Sense of accomplishment when my student gets a good grade, but mainly the biggest joy is when they start to understand the fundamental idea behind what I'm teaching them, because then they are able to start figuring a lot of things out without me and start to really find enjoyment in the topic of math, as well as move onto the point where I have finished my job and they might not need a tutor anymore, but they might want one so I can help push them to furthur heights within maths.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe in not just teaching the required knowledge, but in teaching the underlying principles associated with the topic. Teaching this way to my students really gets them to not just understand a formula, but understand what's happening when they manipulate a formula, or graph it, and allows them to really flourish in those test moments when a hard question comes, to be able to analyse the question, and apply the correct mathematical technique with confidence that it is the right choice.
I also try to keep my lessons suited to the type of student, and what they require from me on that day.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I the the most important thing a tutor can do for their student is make their lessons fun and engaging. If we are being completely honest, most kids don't like math, so creating a lesson plan where it's not just learning, but enjoying the learning process will encourage the child to continue putting effort into math.
I believe it is also just as important to support the child in either teaching them a topic they are confused about or helping them further their understanding of a topic so they don't require someone there to help them in test scenario's.
