What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a Private Tutor in New Zealand, I felt very proud when students in years 11, 12, and 13 achieved results that properly reflected their dedication. Iin these years, high school results determine the university programs, students will be accepted in. So, knowing my support may have helped students make progress towards their long-term aspirations was extremely satisfying.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As part of the University of Auckland Case Programme, I helped coach international case competition teams. From this experience, I have refined my ability to patiently breakdown complex concepts into understandable chunks that will better suit a someone else’s personal learning style. This skill will be critical for tutoring, especially for students who may struggle to grasp concepts by traditional teaching methods.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that a tutors role extends beyond just teaching; they are trusted. Receiving tutoring for scholarship subjects for myself in high school, what was my impactful was tutors providing a safe space for open discussion and drawing insights from their learning journeys. As a result, I felt a genuine connection which transformed my tutors from teachers into study buddies. As a tutor, I would want to create a similar environment.
