What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
In my youth I was not particularly great at any kind of mathematics, however, I was fortunate enough to receive excellent tutoring while still in my early high school years and I attribute my success to this factor. I strive at attempting to gift my knowledge to others so that they may see improvement as I did. Being able to witness my students' marks improve and engaging with them every lesson really brings me joy and motivates me to keep on pushing both my, and their boundaries in what they know is possible for their academic careers.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Oftentimes, especially with younger students find it difficult to grasp some concepts, and explaining them to them could prove a challenge. In my years of tutoring experience, I have encountered this issue multiple times, however, I am often great at explaining niche concepts in a simplified manner to best convey the idea to them. That is the toughest obstacle a tutor needs to overcome and being able to substitute the same idea with analogies and anecdotes is an excellent way to go about this issue.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
All students and particularly the younger ones, they can often get frustrated or intimidated when they do not understand a concept. I have seen a lot of tutors can be extremely impatient with the student, and it is easy to do so but it is so important to remain calm, be patient with them and backtrack as far as you need to a point where they understand. The aim of tuition is not for the benefit of the tutor to feel superior by knowing more than a student, the whole purpose is for the success and improvement of the student and it is critical that the aim remains the focus through all lessons.
