What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most is being in the place of the teacher rather than the student. This gives me the opportunity to implement my time-tested methods and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they were adjacent to my student\'s success. I also feel like tutoring provides an opportunity to contribute to the community by creating achievers and a cycle of gratitude as students realize the effort proficient teachers make to ensure the success of their students as I have.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a recently graduated student, one of my strengths, which I believe is the most important one, is empathy. Having remembered being in a student\'s cramped position, I realized that you can never have enough time. Thus I endeavor to make every lesson a form of progression and to make the most of every minute. My strengths lies in being able to gently encourage students in the direction of improvement if they desire success. Additionally I am motivated to ensure the success of my students as I am giving back to the community by creating achievers and letting them experience the same euphoria.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Tutors must ensure that their lessons are a relief for their students, not viewed negatively as another hour of grueling learning, but improvement. It is paramount for a tutor to ensure that students are comfortable in asking many questions without fear of embarrassment to address all shortcomings. This is done by taking the baton first and asking open-ended questions. This places students in the mindset of accepting that the lessons are for them and they are the subject that must seek noticeable improvement. A tutor-student relationship should bear similarities to a psychiatrist and patient.
