What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love sharing my knowledge to others and watching them grow. I think the connections with students and the impact I could have on them are some things I have enjoyed as a tutor. I love how I could become a role model for my students. I enjoy the moments that I can help them boost confidence to not only improve their academic performance but also to pursue their field of interest with more conviction. It’s also rewarding to see my students eventually achieving big, getting into their dream university and starting their journey.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that patience and empathy have been the biggest strengths that has made me a good tutor. I am also a student, and I can easily emphasise or understand my students’ needs and challenges. By understanding their problems or even personal issues affecting the student’s academic performance, I has been able to help identify the root cause, share my own experience and offer the best possibility of overcoming their challenges. Moreover, as each student has their own learning styles, I had to adjust teaching techniques and approaches based on their unique desires and problems.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing that a tutor can do is to provide individualised instruction, as well as a safe and non-judgemental learning environment to student, something that they may not be able to obtain in a normal big-size class with limited time to teach an increasingly information-heavy curriculum. I have been tutoring students individually or in small groups, offering homework assistance and test preparation, providing more practices and challenging materials, as well as sharing study skills. This has actually helped my students improve their performance and address their needs.
