What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I've always enjoyed learning and finding new challenges for myself. With tutoring, I'm able to pass on the knowledge and skills I've gained throughout my own studies, which in turn improves my own understanding and abilities in the subjects I teach. I like working with students from all different abilities and backgrounds as this ensures no two lessons will be the same, which keeps this job engaging. I like how tutoring challenges me to think outside the box when designing lessons in order to keep them engaging and time efficient.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I'm able to explain concepts in different ways using verbal, written and illustrative cues depending on each student's learning style. I'm a good listener and I'm able to fully immerse myself in a task once I get started. I'm patient and mindful that everyone learns and grows at their own pace.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Showing patience and compassion is key while teaching new concepts and understanding that making mistakes is part of the learning process. Also ensuring that you're building a positive rapport with students is crucial while tutoring so students can feel comfortable asking you for support if they don't understand or feel confident in a specific topic. Tutors need to be flexible and adaptable because every student and lesson is different, therefore the tutor should tailor how they approach each subject and session in order to best suit the needs of each child they work with.
