What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Watching students grow and improve. The fact that I can help make a difference on someone else's life while improving myself at the same time is very motivating for me.
I want to know that I contributed to students' success as this is extremely fulfilling. (More than any other type of job, where outcome is often not directly correlated to dedication and effort)
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patient, dedicated and able to adapt my teaching style. Each student has a unique learning style so seek to teach in a way which is versatile and optimal for their success. I also aim to teach concepts and processes rather than flat memorisation as I want to see students improve their independent problem solving and critical thinking rather than memorising the "correct anwer". I think this is crucial towards a well-rounded approach to academic success.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Encourage lots of question-asking and transparency. There should be a strong rapport and connection between tutor and student to create a comfortable learning environment where the student sees the tutor as a mentor and friend rather than a strict teacher. This emotional connection can help promote active learning.
Additionally, the tutor should cater towards the students' cirriculum and learning style and preferences to help achieve the best outcomes.
