What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
From my experience with helping peers during the HSC and starting months of university, I have found that I particularly value the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction achieved when someone I've taught understands their material. Another facet of tutoring I enjoy is its ability to offer new perspectives on difficult concepts, brought to my attention through conversations I have with students who share the same desire to learn.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that my ability to attentively listen to any questions or difficulties students may have, and then adapting my explanations or teaching strategies to fit their needs best, is a strength of mine as a tutor. I am also patient with students who may struggle in grasping their minds around difficult concepts or questions, and ask/identify where in particular they are having difficulties with. Hence, I am able to mold explanations around that specific issue, ensuring they are comfortable with it for future use as a foundation of their knowledge.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a tutor's job, especially for secondary level Mathematics and Chemistry, is to first and foremost, build a solid foundation of knowledge. Once these foundations are set, my job as a tutor is to refine my student's understandings of more difficult concepts and clarifying any queries they may have on content covered in school, ensuring confidence in a variety of question types that may appear in exams.
