What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I've always loved the feeling of sharing knowledge, and seeing people finally 'get' something they've been working on for a while. Helping others learn from our experience is something that every human does at some point in their life, whether formal or informal, and I think that process has a kind of fundumental beauty. The experience of it, at least for me, has always been an engaging one. It's fulfilling, and has real rewards, which is why I like it.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I have a real interest and love of learning and information. The world is full of fantastic and amazing things, and learning about them is one of the joys of life.
I'm a great communicator, in writing and speech.
I can show whoever I'm helping how to learn, and how to enjoy learning, rather than just cramming information into their heads, I know how to make learning a meaningful experience, with real reward.
I'm generally a very organised person, and am a top student. Where many people go down grades when they move from school into university, I went up.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Helping people understand why learning is important to them. Kids can find it hard to see why what they're learning is important. I think a fundamental key is showing how the process of learning itself is the important aspect, rather than specifically the content. While the content is important to grasp, the process of regular work towards a goal, of engaging you mind, of realising how tricks like mnemonics can make it so much easier, is really what changes learning from something that you have to do, into something you're good at and want to do, ultimately into something meaningful.
