What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I think mathematics is quite beautiful and I am extremely passionate about helping my students see it's beauty. As a third year engineering student I understand the importance of understanding fundamental math concepts as well as becoming an independent learner. I believe I can help guide my students to develop these skills and that really excites me.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I consider patience to be one of my greatest strengths as a tutor. I focus on helping students understand concepts deeply so they can apply their knowledge, rather than just memorizing problem-solving steps. I also strive to create a fun and comfortable learning environment, as I believe students learn best when they feel at ease.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Teach them how to learn. It’s easy to show students how to solve problems, but what’s more important is helping them develop the skills to learn new concepts efficiently. As a university student, I understand the value of independence in learning. My goal is to help students focus on understanding concepts, not just memorizing solutions.

About Benjamin

My Education

I am currently in my third year of Engineering and Science at Monash University. I am majoring in Aerospace Engineering and Computational Science with a minor in Astrophysics. I graduated Monbulk College in 2021, completing VCE Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Physics and English. My whole life I have had an enormous passion toward maths, which is one of the reasons I'm having so much fun at university!

Football and Fitness

Outside of my education, I am a huge AFL football fanatic! I've been playing since I was about 6 years old and have been a mad Hawthorn supporter my whole life. Football has definitely helped develop my social and leadership skills. I was actually fortunate enough to be apart of the Casey Demons VFL side back in 2022 when we won the premiership! Unfortunately I've had a pretty bad run with injuries and now I just focus on enjoying playing at my local football club and keeping up my general fitness!

Proud nerd

I'm not afraid to admit that I'm quite nerdy. Although I love football and sports and keeping fit, I also love to learn new things as much as possible. Recently I've been getting into chess, it has taken up most of my time this summer! I love solving puzzles, reading about silly maths and science stuff and watching videos about rockets and space! I feel blessed to have such love for learning new cool things, and I love trying to share my passion with my students!
